I will probably be using my DA account mainly for uploading stock photography from now on. Occassionally I will post photomanipulations as well or an occasional photograph but generally this account will now be devoted to stock. You will be able to see my photography at other websites or in my main journal.

I really love to see my stock photos featured in other people's art and I hope that all of you wonderful stock artists will find something to use here! In the future I will be hosting contests, just as soon as I get a bit more of my stock photos uploaded at DA!

Ever have one of those days where you wake up & immediately just want to pull the covers over your head and go back to sleep? Well that was me today. I woke up with a headache and rather grumpy disposition and spent the day either doing laundry or curled up under a blanket watching half a dozen old sex and the city reruns. I was definitely having a pity party for myself. Then I decided to hop on the computer & check emails & DA. Immediately after logging in here my spirits soared. There were 70 favorites on the half dozen photos I uploaded Friday!!! WOW. I know some people get 70 favorites just on one piece of work, but for me it's pretty rare to get so much attention all at once. What a really nice pick me up. I just wanted to say THANKS EVERYONE for making me feel special, particularly on a day that I was feeling rather down. You're all just the greatest! I promise I'll be stopping by each of your pages in the near future to thank you personally.

My sister in law is the editor for several magazines geared towards small animals. You've probably seen some of them at your local booksellers (Critters USA, Ferrets USA, etc.) Now her company is launching a new online site called Small Animal Channel, [link] . It's a pretty cool site with tons of information about small animals (hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, sugar gliders, mice, chinchillas, etc.). You can make a webpage for your critter, enter contests, create an avatar. It's pretty cool. It would be great if you could show some support and just visit their new site (gotta get those page hits up!) and if you know anyone with small critters please send them a link to the site as well or feel free to put the link in your own journal!! I'd really appreciate it

I am slowly but surely trying to get myself organized, both here at DA and at my own website([link]). I've organized my gallery somewhat, separating my digital art, personal photos, photography & stock photos into separate folders for easier viewing (or so I hope).

In future I will probably be uploading a lot of stock photos. Anything you find in my folder marked stock photos is for use ANYWHERE and in anyway, personally or professionally. You don't have to ask me for permission to use my stock but please send me a note with a link to where you use it just so I can see what you've created. I'll favorite any DA creations using my stock and I may also add links from my website to anyone that uses my stock.

Finally broke down and bought myself a DA subscription. It just seemed easier to have little thumbnails of artwork displayed instead of having to manually click on each and every item in my watch list. So far I'm enjoying it.

It must be a day of subscribing because I've been looking into getting some magazine subscriptions. Haven't actually bought them yet but I'm sure I'll have narrowed the choices down and bit the bullet this week. Currently considering: American Photo, Photographic Techniques, JPG, Digital Photo Pro, and a couple of graphic design magazines. If anyone has subscriptions to magazines of similar content and wants to recommend them to me, let me know . I want to learn more and improve my work.
